May I? is a soft and surreal nod to a classic tale, and part of the "Reconstructed Toons" series. In this piece, there are no faces, no gowns, no ballroom—just two shoes, side by side, with hands reaching out from each. They're holding each other gently, mid-invitation, frozen in the moment before the first step.

Kloes takes this iconic scene and strips it down to something quiet but powerful. May I? doesn’t shout its meaning, but you feel it all the same—a fairytale reduced to its simplest gesture: a hand asking for another.

Kloes is a street artist, painter and graphic designer from the Netherlands. He is based in Sassenheim, working in his studio to bring his imagination to life.
